Craft Club!
Hello Ladies! Craft Club is still on for December 10th at my house at 7pm. I was able to special order some snowflakes for us to make from Wood Connection. I think they are about the size of the chick or watermelon...somewhere in there. They are $3.95 a piece, but I need to get supplies so I will let you know the final cost when I do...I am guessing about $7 maybe? I ordered 8 snowflakes. I have one for me, Summer, Stacy, Sarah, Melissa, Camilla, Lindy, Lindy's friend. Hope to see you all there!

December Craft group
Sarah, I wasn't sure if you decided you were going to do the craft group for December or not. Just thought i'd put a post up and see if we are still going to get together for the 10th. Also, if you haven't gotten the craft yet I have 2 people that would like to come.
I guess I should ask everyone if it is ok if 2 more people join our little craft group? It is Kristal King from the townhomes and my sister in law. Let me know if this is ok. And, Sarah, if you already bought the craft for December don't worry about adding them in, they can just come in January.
Thanks Ladies,
Hope everyone is having a great November!

Book Club
So I asked everyone when they wanted to have book club this month then never told everyone when we are having it...nice. That is the brain of a mom with two kids I tell you...it's just gone. Anyways, it looks like most people can/want to do it the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. So book club will be at my house on Wednesday, November 25th at 7pm. Hope to see you all there!

Craft club for December
Who is up for going ahead and doing December craft group this year instead of skipping it? Like Sarah Selin said, it is both of our Anniversaries on the 3rd, but she would be happy to do it on the 10th. It also seems that the majority of us are fine with not skipping July.
As always, if you can't come but let the person in charge know ahead of time, you can still pay for and get the craft, but don't have to attend. This would change the rotation slightly, but that is not a problem! Let me know what everyone thinks. Are you getting sick of me and my posts today ? :)
Posted by Stacy at 3:24 PM 2 comments
Oops I forgot again !
Also, do we still want to skip July and December, or just December???

Craft Club 2010
I meant to ask everyone last night, about craft club next year. Sorry, my brain was a litte sick...
Do you want to continue the rotation, or pick a month that you want to do? I am fine with either way. I have the rotation done in the same order as last year, but I can change it if everyone wants to pick a paticular month . As of right now, Sarah Selin, and myself are on their twice because of how the rotation goes (hope that's okay Sarah). Let me know, and as soon as I hear back from everyone, and I will email the list.
Thanks, and have a good day - It's Friday!!!

Hello ladies,
Just a reminder about craft club tonight at 7:30. I also wanted to give you a heads up that I am fighting a cold, but I do believe I am over the worst of it. Just a bit stuffy still! Cade has a runny nose too, but Scott will keep the kids upstairs.
Thanks,

Novmeber Book Club!
Hello all! This is just a reminder for all of you that this month's book club book is called The Host by Stephenie Meyer. Lindy and I are co-hosting it this month and it will be at my house. Now here is the small dilemma: the last Thursday this month is Thanksgiving and I am guessing (call it a hunch) you might all be busy and/or in a food coma to have book club that night so when should we have it? We could keep it Thursday and do it the Thursday before (19th) or since it is a longer book we could do it the last Wednesday instead. What is everyone's preference? I think I will go with majority rules on this one so please let me know! Thanks!

November craft group
Ladies,
I actually finished all 3 angels, but because I dropped our camera and broke it, I can't take a picture to post it on the blog - SORRY! They did turn out really cute though.
The cost will be $8.00 per person. I will need your money that night, so PLEASE bring it with you. I have everything you will need, but, if you have an extra brush, please bring it. I have 7, they are just 3 different sizes.
Thanks, and see you at my house: Thursday, November 5th, 7:30 pm.

November Craft Club
I got the November Craft this week, so I just need to know who is planning to come. I think I will do it on November 5th @ 7:30. Does that work for everyone?
The craft is a set a 3 angels. There is a large, medium and small angel. I think they are pretty cute. I did by 3 for everyone, but if you choose to do only two, that is fine. The cost will be around $8.00 or less if you don't do all 3. I will try to do them in the next few days, and post a picture, but not making any promises, that will happen.

October Craft Group
Hey girls, I FINALLY found a Thanksgiving Craft for us to make on Martha Stewart's website...no wonder none of you have very many Thanksgiving crafts, they're impossible to find (at least under $10, or I'm just not that creative...)! Honestly, I have been doing online research and going to many different stores for like a WEEK. Anywhoooooo.....if anyone still wants to do the washer necklace craft, I have some supplies for that already as well and wouldn't mind organizing a little daytime meet-up for anyone who wants, just contact me....don't know the cost yet.
THIS IS WHAT WE'LL BE MAKING FOR OUR OCTOBER CRAFT: It's called a Pom-Pom Tom/aka a Turkey. We'll also be making the pom-pom pumpkin(s) you see in the picture. These will all be cute as.....decoration anywhere, place-card holders, mantlepiece decor, to glue on your door wreath....etc. etc. etc.
The cost will be around $8 per person, depending on how many people show.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE COMING! I already got the supplies, but I want to know how much to charge, and also if I need to premake some pom-poms if you can't come.
SEE YOU AT MY HOUSE ON THURSDAY OCTOBER 8TH, 7:30 P.M.!!!! (If you want to come as early as 7 p.m., that's fine with me too!)

October Craft Group Heads Up!
Hi ladies!
The October Craft Group will be meeting at my house on Thursday October 8th at 7:30 p.m. Will that work for you ladies?
I'm working on the ideas for the craft, but I was actually thinking making some washer necklaces for us to wear instead of a Thanksgiving craft, since we have a pumpkin already....
Anyone rather have a Thanksgiving craft? Or, do we not have craft group in Nov/Dec and therefore you'd like to make a Christmas craft? I don't remember.
I was just thinking of doing something different.
Thanks for the input!

Hey Gals! Just a reminder that this month's book is "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Spencer Johnson, M.D. I have a copy that I will lend out, if anyone needs it. I just need it back by Sep.20th. It's a very fast read and I want to read it the week that we meet, so it's fresh on my mind...kinda forget things easily these days. :). Anyway, hope you enjoy the book! We'll plan on meeting on Thursday, September 24th @ 7:30pm...my house. Thanks!

August Book Club
Hello Ladies,
The book for August is going to be: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.
I wanted to read this book before to make sure I liked it, but I barely got it started. Hopefully, it is a good book. A couple of my really good friends reccomended it to me, so I bought one. It is a short book, so if anyone wants to borrow mine, I can try to read it quickly and pass it along.
Thanks, Stacy

August craft club
Ok, so I haven't completely dropped the ball, but I did almost forget (thanks to Stacy for reminding me yesterday). I am figuring out what to do for the craft and will hopefully post a pic soon. I wanted to fill everyone out as to what day is best for everyone. I know that we usually do it the first Thursday of the month, but if there is anyone who can't make it or that day conflicts with other things we can try for the next Thursday. So please let me know soon if you vote for August 6th or August 13th. Thanks gals, see you soon.
P.S. if anyone has not come to our fun craft club that would like to please feel free to come. Also I'll need to know who is doing it so i'll know how many to get. It will probably be a fall craft.

THE 18th
Ok so craft group will be on the 18th...Sorry if that didn't work for you but that was the majority so it wins. I don't know what we will be doing....or how much yet! But if you guys have some ideas of things you need that would be great. One thing I know how to do and is really fun and cheap is a stitching. I don't know how in those are though. Tell me the truth how you feel about that. Other than that any ideas would be great.

Hi Girls,
Here is next month's book of choice eat, pray, love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I haven't had the opportunity to read although it's one of my sisters favorites so I think it's worth the try. Happy reading and I hope to see you all @ my home in June!
Yvon
Around the time Elizabeth Gilbert turned thirty, she went through an early-onslaught midlife crisis. She went through a divorce, a crushing depression, another failed love, and the eradication of everything she ever thought she was supposed to be. To recover from all this, Gilbert got rid of her belongings, quit her job, and undertook a yearlong journey around the world—all alone, to bridge the gulf between body, mind, and spirit.

Standing in the Rainbow
This month's book club meeting will be at my house on May 28 at 7:30 pm. I hope you are all enjoying the book, I know it's long...and I know that not all books are for everyone. Anyway, I also wanted everyone to know that I still have 3 copies of the book at my house. You can just come to my house and get one if you want it. All the books are due back to the library on May 29. So, either bring the books to me whenever you finish or to book club-whichever works for me!
I hope to see you all at book club in a couple weeks!

May Book Club
I know this is a little early, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I have reserved 8 copies of the book for May (Standing In the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg). I should be able to bring them when we meet. A couple people may have to share, depending on how many actually plan on reading it/coming to the May meeting.
Here's a plot synopsis:
Along with Neighbor Dorothy, the lady with the smile in her voice, whose daily radio broadcasts keep us delightfully informed on all the local news, we also meet Bobby, her ten-year-old son, destined to live a thousand lives, most of them in his imagination; Norma and Macky Warren and their ninety-eight-year-old Aunt Elner; the oddly sexy and charismatic Hamm Sparks, who starts off in life as a tractor salesman and ends up selling himself to the whole state and almost the entire country; and the two women who love him as differently as night and day. Then there is Tot Whooten, the beautician whose luck is as bad as her hairdressing skills; Beatrice Woods, the Little Blind Songbird; Cecil Figgs, the Funeral King; and the fabulous Minnie Oatman, lead vocalist of the Oatman Family Gospel Singers.
The time is 1946 until the present. The town is Elmwood Springs, Missouri, right in the middle of the country, in the midst of the mostly joyous transition from war to peace, aiming toward a dizzyingly bright future.

.:May Craft:.
Hi ladies....
After toying with a few different ideas, I decided to go with what I think will be the cheapest craft for us for May! Plus, it's super cute! We will be making a wood watermelon from Wood Connection. The cost for the wood is $4. I will plan on getting those for everyone. Then, you'll just need to bring your own shade of red/pink and green paints to paint them with.
Please let me know if you are planning on coming. I'm not sure what the first Thursday in May is, but check your calendar and let me know asap so that I can pick those up! I may ask if I can get your money in advance if that's okay with everyone.
**EDIT** I will actually be out of town the first Thursday in May, which is May 7th. Can everybody do it on the second Thursday in May - May 14th?
Thanks!

Craft Group
Thursday, April 2nd, Craft Group is at my house at 7pm. We are making picture frames. I just recently made one and I had so much fun doing it I thought it would be perfect for Craft Group. The best part is....the frames only cost $1! So with materials, this months craft is costing everyone $2.50. I have the frames and I will have the edges pre-painted white. Then I bought modge podge to stick the paper on. After that you can decorate it with any sort of embellishment you like! I have some scrapbook paper, ribbon, embellishments, etc. that you are more than welcome to use; but if you are wanting to make a specific color/paper pattern then I recommend bringing some 12x12 scrapbook paper and stuff to decorate (ribbon, flowers, jewels, etc.) to match. I'm excited to get crafty with you all!

Craft group and Grocery Smarts Class
Just wanted to remind anyone that wants to come tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, that I am having a grocery smarts class here at my house @ 6:30 pm. It is to teach us how to get all of our groceries, including diapers, and household items, for under $200.00 a month. Come and join us if you can, and feel free to bring a friend.
Also, those of us who decided to do a craft group, it is here at my house on Thursday the 19th @ 7:30 pm. It will be $5.00 per craft, and all you need to bring is some yellow paint for your egg. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Stacy

Craft group
As far as craft group goes, I think we are going to have to do it on a Wednesday or Thursday evening. As far as this month goes for Wednesdays, I can't do the 18th, because I will be having the grocery smarts class here at my house that night. But the 25th is open.
For Thursdays, tomorrow does not work, and the 19th is enrichment, so I don't think that will work either. That leaves the 26th, which is book club, so the only other thing I can think of is to do it before at 6:30. It should only take 30 minutes. What does everyone think? I think for the months to come, we need to set a date and plan on that day each month, just like book club.
Let me know what you think as soon as possible. I just want everyone to be able to enjoy their Easter Chick before Easter :)

Craft group
For those of you who said you were interested in a craft group, ( Camilla, Sarah Nuttall, Sarah Selin, Lindy & Summer), I bought our craft for the month. It is an Easter Chick. Very cheap, but way cute. With tax and supplies, it will be $5.00 each. I already have the feathers, paint brushes, orange and black paints, and a glue gun. All you will need to bring is some yellow paint for your egg, and orange if you want a specific color.
When do you want to get together? Do we want to do it after book club on the 26th, or sooner? It is an Easter decoration, so it is up to all of you. It does not take long at all. When I did it I think it took maybe 30 minutes to paint, dry, and glue stuff on. Then we can also do a sign up for the upcoming months. Sound okay to everyone?

.:Another Off Topic:.
Stacy asked me to post this on here for all of us!
A few of us were talking, and thinking it would be fun to have a craft group. Stacy volunteered to head it up. So, just wanted to feel out if there was any interest, and if so, how much you'd be willing to spend per month? I'm sure we can all agree that we'd like to keep it as cheap as possible! :) Probably just some sort of seasonal decoration each month.
What do you think?

Thanks Sarah, for hosting book club last nite! I had a great time!
Since we were all talking about recipes last nite, I thought it might be kind of fun (and helpful!) to start a recipe blog, where you can get recipes, and post recipes. I have a couple of other friends who do similar things with their group of friends, and they really like it.
Let me know if you are interested and I can sign you up as a contributor!

I know from some of you that you are like Nr. 70 on the waiting list for "Confessions of a Shopaholic" (probably because of the recent movie release), so I just wanted to remind you all I do have a copy of the book. By now it's probably in Sarah Jane Nuttall's hands, so you can ask her about it at book club this week!!!!! You might get it sooner that way than waiting for the library, who knows.
I am looking forward to another book club, and to discuss "The Book Thief" with you all.

February Book
I thought I'd let you all know what the book is for February since it's a little long you can all get started on it. The book is, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I've heard only good things about this book and have wanted to read it now for a while, so there it is. See you all on the 29th @ Summer's.

Questionnaire
I am trying to think of what book to pick for our March book club. Who of you has read "Confessions of a Shopaholic" or any in that series?
I wanted to take a little survey to see if it's worth picking. It's one of my favorite books/series. Thanks mucho! Laters!

.:January Meeting:.
The meeting for this month will be on Thursday, January 29th. It will be at 7:00 p.m. at my house. We live in the townhomes at 8497 S. Ivy Gable Dr. We are in the building right next to Stacy's, if you went to book club at her house. We have a studio, so it is the front/first door on the left side of the building.
Hope to see everyone there to discuss Snow Flower!

.:Meeting this month:.
Hi ladies...
I was wondering when we wanted to meet this month. I couldn't remember if it was typically just the last Thursday of the month, or the fourth Thursday of the month. Since there are five Thursdays this month, I figured I better ask before I make any plans!
