Hi Girls,
Here is next month's book of choice eat, pray, love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I haven't had the opportunity to read although it's one of my sisters favorites so I think it's worth the try. Happy reading and I hope to see you all @ my home in June!
Yvon
Around the time Elizabeth Gilbert turned thirty, she went through an early-onslaught midlife crisis. She went through a divorce, a crushing depression, another failed love, and the eradication of everything she ever thought she was supposed to be. To recover from all this, Gilbert got rid of her belongings, quit her job, and undertook a yearlong journey around the world—all alone, to bridge the gulf between body, mind, and spirit.

Standing in the Rainbow
This month's book club meeting will be at my house on May 28 at 7:30 pm. I hope you are all enjoying the book, I know it's long...and I know that not all books are for everyone. Anyway, I also wanted everyone to know that I still have 3 copies of the book at my house. You can just come to my house and get one if you want it. All the books are due back to the library on May 29. So, either bring the books to me whenever you finish or to book club-whichever works for me!
I hope to see you all at book club in a couple weeks!

May Book Club
I know this is a little early, but I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I have reserved 8 copies of the book for May (Standing In the Rainbow by Fannie Flagg). I should be able to bring them when we meet. A couple people may have to share, depending on how many actually plan on reading it/coming to the May meeting.
Here's a plot synopsis:
Along with Neighbor Dorothy, the lady with the smile in her voice, whose daily radio broadcasts keep us delightfully informed on all the local news, we also meet Bobby, her ten-year-old son, destined to live a thousand lives, most of them in his imagination; Norma and Macky Warren and their ninety-eight-year-old Aunt Elner; the oddly sexy and charismatic Hamm Sparks, who starts off in life as a tractor salesman and ends up selling himself to the whole state and almost the entire country; and the two women who love him as differently as night and day. Then there is Tot Whooten, the beautician whose luck is as bad as her hairdressing skills; Beatrice Woods, the Little Blind Songbird; Cecil Figgs, the Funeral King; and the fabulous Minnie Oatman, lead vocalist of the Oatman Family Gospel Singers.
The time is 1946 until the present. The town is Elmwood Springs, Missouri, right in the middle of the country, in the midst of the mostly joyous transition from war to peace, aiming toward a dizzyingly bright future.

.:May Craft:.
Hi ladies....
After toying with a few different ideas, I decided to go with what I think will be the cheapest craft for us for May! Plus, it's super cute! We will be making a wood watermelon from Wood Connection. The cost for the wood is $4. I will plan on getting those for everyone. Then, you'll just need to bring your own shade of red/pink and green paints to paint them with.
Please let me know if you are planning on coming. I'm not sure what the first Thursday in May is, but check your calendar and let me know asap so that I can pick those up! I may ask if I can get your money in advance if that's okay with everyone.
**EDIT** I will actually be out of town the first Thursday in May, which is May 7th. Can everybody do it on the second Thursday in May - May 14th?
Thanks!

Craft Group
Thursday, April 2nd, Craft Group is at my house at 7pm. We are making picture frames. I just recently made one and I had so much fun doing it I thought it would be perfect for Craft Group. The best part is....the frames only cost $1! So with materials, this months craft is costing everyone $2.50. I have the frames and I will have the edges pre-painted white. Then I bought modge podge to stick the paper on. After that you can decorate it with any sort of embellishment you like! I have some scrapbook paper, ribbon, embellishments, etc. that you are more than welcome to use; but if you are wanting to make a specific color/paper pattern then I recommend bringing some 12x12 scrapbook paper and stuff to decorate (ribbon, flowers, jewels, etc.) to match. I'm excited to get crafty with you all!
